Lost Island

Lost Island is a fantastic park that I hope survives the next two years. When it is finished and everything is open, it will be a very nice looking park with a solid ride lineup.

The Coasters

Nopuko, the SLC This coaster is ok. The rollover hurts but the rest of the ride is fine. The trains were on par with the KumbaK on T3 which I did not expect. It’s pretty at least. Wish they put mag brakes on it but oh well.

Lokolo, the Wacky Worm It sure is a wack woom. Trimmed drop but a fun kiddie coaster

Other Rides

Amara Aviators (Gerstlauer Sky Flyer) These things are super fun. On my second try I got 47 flips, beating the park record of 41 (until one of my friends who works at the park got 56)

Mury Fury: Weird restraints. Super big seats but locked super low. I’m 220 lbs and 6′, and I barely got it to lock. Saucer didn’t spin and only got two inversions. Very sad

Volkanu: Decent ride. Skipped the preshow because we were just told to walk through it so didn’t really know the story. The animatronic in the queue was cool, and the effects during the ride mixed screens and sets very well. Lots of targets, but the lights on the back of each gun were very bright and distracting. I wish they did more with the true trackless system, but overall I would say it’s on par with SFGAm’s JLA. JLA has the weaker preride experience, but better show experience

Skyborne: Most flaccid S&S tower I have been on. Good view though and has an interesting queue and preshow experience

Music

The park was very quiet for the most part. There is some quiet ambient music playing in each section, but nothing overbearing. It was very pleasant!

Food

There are two large indoor food courts. We went to Whalebone Grill and had a decent if a bit pricey food. 8/10 would eat again.

State of the Park

The park is very pretty and in two years will look incredible

The mini topspin was closed for maintenance unfortunately. I love topspins and was sad to miss this.

Matugani was closed of course, but once it opens will add immensely to the lineup.

The park overall was still very much a work in progress. A lot of the rope was not yet installed for their fencing on the paths, along with the fact that someone from the queue could totally dispatch Nopuko if they knew what they were doing. There were a few small areas fenced off.

They should build some shortcuts into the pathways. There are some points where there’s a big loop of path around a giant planter and everyone was just cutting through. A 6 ft gravel path shortcut would help reduce the trampling of plants.

Attendance and marketing

The recent reports were no lie. There was essentially no one at the park today. One thing I found surprising was that there was ZERO advertisment for the theme park in the water park. The water park parking lot was like 50% full, and surely some of that crowd would want to go check out the dry park. Giving water park guests an option to go to the dry park for like $30 more would help things so much

Mini waterpark review

Solid little park. A varied lineup, with an ok water coaster (full circuit! Cool) and a wave pool with a long cycle. I reccomend a park hopper ticket for sure! Parking is free at the water park and $10 at the theme park.
